Keep Your Eye On The Ball...Derek Anderson...Get a birds eye view of the ball and make sure that your eyes are approximately a foot above the pivotal center. Keep your shoulders where they are. Do not allow yourself the opportunity to cast a gaze at the ball as it sits along the line of the shaft of the club you are using. Always look down on the ball where it is as opposed to getting your angles along the shaft. Resist the urge to glance away when you begin to draw the club back.
If you are leaning down and looking down in the appropriate manner you will notice that to keep the club head in the line of flight you must make sure that your hands continue to move along the parallel with the line. When the ball and head make contact with each other, make sure that you sweep your hands deftly along with the motion of the club head. It takes time and practice to always know where the ball is at all times. You cannot hit the ball to the best of your ability unless it can be seen clearly. This is a very simple point that is extremely important to remember. Many golfers do not grasp this basic concept and do not stand as still as they should and focus on the ball. As soon as you look away from the ball you run the risk of losing the shot all together. Do not look in the direction you want the ball to go and then look back at the ball.
It is a lack of concentration that causes many golfers to make mistakes. Make sure you keep your eye on the ball from the beginning to the end of your swing. You will find that your golf game will improve tremendously! Happy golfing folks!
